Also, in 1997 for all intra-country adoptions to the US:

47% were under 1 year old when adopted.
41% 1-4 years old when adopted.
Eastern United States got most of the Children.

In 1991, per the INS:

96% Female
47% under 1 year of age
51% 1 – 4 years of age
