Great Bedtime Story! |

This is a great book for reading to 3-6 years olds just before bed. They love to touch the different textures on the animals. The Chinese is simple and fun for the kids to repeat. The pop-up alligator jaws at the end are especially fun as they will open and close if you move the book ends back and forth.

Review I won't Bite |

This book maintains my 3.5 yr olds interest each time. It is a repetitive book that can be read with the same facial expressions 'I won't bite' on each page, leading with great anticipation to the 'I will bite!' at the end, and also pointing to the animal and feeling on each page speaks the chinese words again - so once children have been told a few times of the english translation, the repetition and expression of reading can reinforce the words, for free reading in Chinese without interruption.

The story line is appropriate for slightly older kids 15mos-24mos. as they will enjoy the tactile nature of each page, although, careful that they don't rip the pages out. If you don't READ any chinese at all this book will not be as fun. Perfect for bilingual parents reading to their children in english/chinese. Wish there was a read-a-long CD so that it can be played along with the book

I have a 2 year old that loves this book. The multi-lingual aspect, plus the tactile images help little kids to both learn and imagine. I know some parents will want to teach their children in one language first, and then future learning in another, and this is superb for that. The age range is listed as 3-6, but the book is simple enough for younger kids, but you may have to worry about them removing the parts of the page that jump out at you. Great for together time with the youngster.

It is a very nice book, although not for very young children unless supervised because they will break it. I have an 18 month old and he likes to go through the book but if I leave him alone he would tear the last page apart! Still it's very nice and simple
