Journeys to the East introduces children to the Chinese language through a fun and challenging adventure through ancient China.
By using both English and Chinese, the DVD provides a bridge from an English-only environment to a Chinese-only environment.
The
DVD introduces words and sentences that children would encounter in
everyday life so that there is greater opportunity for children to use
the language immediately, thus reinforcing language learning. Our goal is to enable meaningful communication in Chinese.
The DVD utilizes repetition and music to enhance language acquisition. Once a word is introduced, it is used in follow-on dialogue. Key vocabulary words are used over 20 times. Vocabulary words are set to fun sing-along songs and traditional Chinese children's music.
With each new challenge, the adventure introduces new sets of vocabulary. Your children will learn nouns, adjectives, and verbs. Before you know it, they are speaking simple sentences in Chinese to ask for some red grapes to eat!
By
setting the adventure in ancient China, your children will be exposed
to a new and fascinating world that truly reflects some of the beloved
characters and cultural icons of China.
Our goal is to provide tools to parents and educators in the Chinese language learning process. Exposure to the language in everyday activities is critical to language acquisition.
