of the Course
There are twenty-four
lessons included in this course. Each lesson contains dialogue, new
words, notes for grammars, and usage of patterns. Chinese Spell System
known as Han Yu Pin Yin and simplified Chinese characters are used in
the course to comply with the United Nations' standard. After this
course, you will have the necessary conversational skills to function
independently in everyday situations in China.
Videotapes No.1-4 cover lessons 1-12,
accompanied with textbook Vol. I; videotapes No.5-8 cover lessons
13-24, accompanied with textbook Vol. II. The length of each
videotape: approximately 45 minutes, each lesson lasts for 15 minutes.
Total number of new words and vocabularies: Over 600; commonly used

"In past years, I have bought
many books on learning Chinese. I have made some attempts to
learn but so far with minimal success. While searching the Internet, I
discovered there is now a video series: "Follow Me Learning
Chinese" that teaches the Mandarin language. I was more
than overjoyed to watch the videos. They were more than I expected. I
found the video suitable for my beginning needs. However the video
will also satisfy the needs of people who have been studying Mandarin
for several years. I think the video is very good for anyone who plans
to travel to China. All the common situations are covered. It provides
a very good foundation for more advanced study as well. The video
series comes with one of the easier follow along books that I have
seen. The book can be used by itself but I strongly recommend to
watch the tape. Really is very possible to learn to converse in
Mandarin in a relatively short period of time. I think any
school that teaches Mandarin should recommend and expose their
students to this wonderful supplementary video learning material.
