"The books are wonderful. It re-enforces the reader to remember the Chinese character. For example in the first book: I love my home (there are English translation on the second page after the title).
Page 1: Wo ai wo de pa pa.
Page 2: Same character no pinyin then "ma ma".
Page 3: Same character no pinyin then "ge ge".
My daughter is 3.5 years old and she already remember the characters... And the audio helped!...
Overall, very please!!!" - From Jeanne, of Orlando, Fl
My First Chinese Words is the best starting material for little kids to learn Chinese.
First, kids are taught words they use daily. Learned words are then formed into basic sentences. Sentence is used repeatedly with one word changed, bit by bit. Chinese sentences are mastered in no time at all.
Your child will be proud of his/her accomplishments, and you will be too!
Each of the 36 books are short and have colorful pages so your little one pays attention and finish each book.
Accompanying CD reads through all 36 books.
Sentences taught can accommodate play-acting in Chinese.
Recommended for small kids age 3-5 years.
Award-winning : Hanban Awardee: Best CFL (Chinese as a Foreign Language) Curriculum for its target group
Or, if your child likes using the computer (yes, even our 3-year olds are very capable with the computer now, right?) you may use the My First Chinese Words CD-ROM (sold separately) for flashing words and sentences.
2. Open the designated book being read and read along.
3. There is an exercise at the end of each book, so have fun practicing.
(It would be great if parents can practice with the child. A child gains more confidence saying things out loud if there is someone to practice conversation with, especially when words and sentences are newly learned.)

What People say about My First Chinese Words
"The 36 books are engaging with entertaining stories, excellent pictures and focused themes for each book. We've had the books for over a month now and my two children are still excited to read the books over and over again; this shows the educational quality of the books, as many books nowadays are read by children and thrown in the closet never to be seen again. I like the accompanying CD because it goes through each book twice, first at a slow pace to help you understand the pronunciation of each word, then at a more normal pace. The only drawback to the books is that it's not a "complete package" in the sense that you have to buy exercise and character practice books separately from the 36 book collection." - The stay-at-home-dad, NY
"Great quality set. My 4 year old loves looking through the books and carrying the storage box that the set comes in". - mom, Chino Hill, Ca.
