A Japanese animation based on the famous Chinese historical novel, Romance Of The Three Kingdoms.
Total running time: 1,200 minutes.

The Three Kingdoms were the Wei in northern China, the Shu to the west, and the Wu in the east. This historical period existed from 220 - 265 A.D. It is a special historical period full of political power struggles and superior military strategies.

The time period of this 24 VCD set began at 184 A.D. the Yellow Turban rebellion during the last years of the Han Dynasty. The story began with Liu Bei, Quan Yu, and Zhang Fei taken oath at the plum tree garden becoming sworn brothers. The story ended at the Battle Of The Red Cliffs, where Cao Cao was defeated.

I am a Three Kingdoms fan. This animated version is based on true historical fact, did not modify it into something else. Both adults and children will enjoy it. The music CDs bonus is worth half of the cost already. I don't understand the Japanese songs but the music are nice to listen to.
